Based in Selangor, Malaysia, Titan Dive Team is
an adventure provider that organize activities
and programs evolve around nature with a vision
to be as eco-friendly as possible.
As
an eco- traveller, it is our responsibility to
prevent or minimise any negative impacts on the
environment, local community and economy of the
destination we are visiting.
Our programs
have been designed by professionals and
supervised by qualified trainers and guides,
making each and every trip safe, fun and
unforgettable.
We
are serious divers who love to have fun. We love
making new friends and expanding our network to
people of all ages who share the same interest.
Therefore, we
have gone out and found some great trip
operators and resorts dive packages so we can offer you diving 7 days a
week, 365 days a year. Best of all, our price is
same as what trip operators and resorts is
offering - meaning we do not mark-up our prices!
- so, you can be sure you get the best offer
without having the trouble to go through all the
hassles to book your own dive trip! Just let us
know where you would like to dive, and we'll
source it out for you.
SCUBA DIVING IS FUN... but that doesn't mean
divers should not take it seriously. It should
be taken as a professional sport where safety is
always the top priority... At Titan Dive
Team, we always remind our divers to be a
responsible diver - whether you are a freshly
certified Open Water Diver or an expert Rescue
Diver. We believe strongly in safety and
education and we foster self-responsibility as
well as safety awareness in all divers that pass
through our certification.
If you are not yet a diver and are planning to
get an Open Water Diver license soon, please
spend some time understanding what scuba diving
is really about. As we mentioned earlier on,
scuba diving is fun and we should make it better
by being a responsible diver.
We
understand you've probably source around looking
for diving instructors. However, we would like
to give you some advice when looking for the
right instructor as you have to be sure you are
paying the right person to teach you skills you
may need in life and death situations. Ask them
about their experience, philosophies, and
teaching styles >> Are they willing to give
special attention to someone having trouble? Are
they able to translate technical knowledge into
memorable lay terms? Do they challenge students
to master skills rather than just pass everyone?
Prices for certification courses vary because
different courses include different things. It's
essential to find out what is included in a
course because the RM900 course you pay can end
up costing more than the RM1400 one. Few things
that you should ask about are>> dive manuals and
dive tables, log books, equipment, confined pool
training, open water dives, the Certification
card, on island accommodation, meals and
transportations. Don't feel bad asking too much
questions as the more you ask, the more you'll
understand whether what you're paying for is
worth the value.
If you can't afford private or semi-private
lessons, ask the maximum size of a typical
class. Remember, smaller classes mean more time
spent with individual students, which leads to
safer diving. We STRICTLY DO NOT ENCOURAGE
students to take a 3-day weekend crash course on
island. As a serious diver, it is very important
to follow the full course process and syllabus
from theory and confined pool training to Open
Water Dive. What's important about the training
dives in the pool is that it's your opportunity
to suit up and get familiar with all the
equipment in a contained and supervised setting.
The final step on your way to being a scuba
diver is to try an open water dive. This is when
all your hard work in the classroom and pool is
finally put to the test. You will be required to
pass a series of open water dives in the open
sea.
Although you may be in a hurry to get certified
before a vacation and the shorter courses are
probably cheaper – do you really think you are
able to absorb all the knowledge thrown to you
in just 3-days, while you know that others take
a full 2 months to learn the same skills? And
what if, during your 3-days crash course, you
failed your theory because you don't have enough
time to finish the manual? Do you stay back on
the island - which also means paying extra money
for extra nights? or, do you return on another
trip to complete it - which again, also involves
paying that extra cash? You do the maths!
